STARFLIGHT DYNAMICS (SFDY) is dedicated to bringing productive industries to space and is currently developing the critical technologies to do so. As part of this, we are currently working on a demonstration mission to validate a first set of critical technologies and processes through in-space testing. This mission is currently being defined and is expected to take place in 2024/2025.
In this context, the technologies developed by GATE Space (a San Francisco based startup developing in-space propulsion solutions for the #NewSpace economy) are considered complementary and relevant to the concepts pursued by SFDY.
Therefore, GATE Space has been considered to participate in this first mission and to demonstrate its systems in space alongside the main payloads.
Further in-depth consultations will be required to further assess feasibility and fit as well as to work out the specifics of such an approach. These discussions will take place in early 2024.
